If you have to snow groom deep powder, there can be major issues. For example, many homegrown groomers are heavy, pile up snow, and can get you stuck in the deep powder. Other snow groomers are meant to be really heavy to knock down snowmobile whoops. These can be an issue in deep powder. So is there a way to try and have the best of both worlds? We surely think so.
How to Snow Groom Deep Powder
Our ultra-lightweight snow groomers are designed to tuck the snow underneath them, even when using a blade to cut the snow. Tested over the years and perfected to be the only deep powder snow groomer we know of. We solve the following issues that people have when grooming deep powder.
Too deep of powder.
When the powder is deep, most drags or snow groomers are not made to ride up on the snow. They are meant to beat the snow down to knock down moguls. When your drag or groomer is meant to fix moguls. The snow goes over the top and leaves lots of junk on the trail. Standard snow drags also will just rip off the top of the snow but if it’s too deep it will just go over the top of the snow drag. Our snow groomers have a snow deflector plate and top angle tow bars that allow the groomer to get on top of the powder but still pack and groom it. No snow should go over the top of our deflector because it is meant to get on top of the snow. Then still be heavy enough to pack the snow. Leaving a nice non-cluttered trail. Our snow groomers allow you to de-weight the snow groomer or add weight to the snow groomer depending on the snow conditions.
Stuck in the deep powder.
If you get stuck in the deep powder, then getting your groomer that is heavily unstuck can be flat out a ton of work, and you may have to get help. Our ultra-light groomers with a wheel kit are meant for one person to be able to move them around even in the deep snow. This makes it much easier to get unstuck. If you have added weight to the snow groomer, then you just remove the weight. Move the groomer and put the weight back. It is true that this is also some work. But definitely better than not being able to get unstuck.
Deep Powder boogeyman.
When grooming the deep powdered snow, there can be obstacles you hit. Our groomers are built with breakaway pins. So you do not get completely stopped or break up everything. Having this designed in really helps not to destroy your towing equipment or your snow groomer. Also, if you are on top of the snow, the boogeyman is often bounced over with the snow groomer. Yes, these groomers were designed, and we have tested them for years to prove the boogeyman does not destroy you.

One pass snow-grooming.
If you need to go over the trail before snow grooming and then come back and get your groomer, that is a lot of extra work. Our ultra-lightweight groomers are meant to go on the first and only trip needed for snow grooming. Pulling heavier groomers is just hard in deep snow.
Powder snow grooming lets the sides fall in.
We have seen lots of homegrown or built-at-home groomers that people needed to make because they could not find what they needed for a reasonable price or small enough to fit down trails. Now there are proven snow groomers that do all this and even have wings to push back the edges and curl it up, so it is much less likely to fall in and mess up the nice trail you have. We call them wings, and they push back the edges at an angle, so there is less snow falling back into your groomed trail.
